Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
1) We have done Monte Carlo simulation to study effect of RF Power on the ratio of Bi and V in BiVO4 Films Sputtered from single target. BiVO4 films with monoclinic scheelite crystal structures were obtained at high RF power and found to exhibit comparable photocatalytic performances. 2) Effect of zirconium (Zr), titanium, and sulphur doping in sputtered BiVO4 films were investigated studying structural and optical properties using XRD, TRPL and finally photocatalytic performance. 3) Mechanism of Zr incorporation into BiVO4 materials were investigated by studying local structure surrounding Zr in BiVO4 host crystal using Extended X-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS).EXAFS revealed an 8-coordinated Zr4+ dodecahedral environment, suggesting that Zr is incorporated as a substitute on the Bi site and act as shallow donor. 4) Raman and XRD confirmed BiVO4 retain single-phase monoclinic crystals at lower Zr concentrations and improve performance.
