Outline of Final Research Achievements

Diabetic cardiomyopathy is a myocardial disorder that originates from metabolic abnormalities caused by diabetes. However, the mechanism of diabetic cardiomyopathy is unclear, and it is still difficult to approach the prevention and treatment of ischemic heart failure from the perspective of diabetes and metabolism. In this study, we performed omics analysis on cases of ischemic heart disease complicated with diabetes, and attempted to elucidate the pathogenesis mechanism of diabetic cardiomyopathy in ischemic heart disease. Fatty acids are the main components of biological lipids, and are involved in maintaining life, such as energy production and the formation of cell membranes. In this study, we demonstrated the possibility of free fatty acids as a prognostic predictor for the onset of cardiovascular events, including heart failure.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
