Research Abstract |
This research project is intended to inquire into the foundations and frontiers of the field of law and economics in a multi-disciplinary way, by employing the methods of general jurisprudence, specific areas of law, and economic theory. As to the methodological foundations of law and economics, our research included an analysis of the basic concepts of efficiency and justice, a comparison between economic and jurisprudential conceptions of law, an examination of the economic model of individual behavior, an assessment of several major methods of legal interpretation, and a scrutiny of conventional welfare economics. To explore the frontiers of the field, we discussed the issues of public assistance, school education, and civil procedures from an economic perspective.
