Research Abstract

昨今、複数の低高度極域探査衛星が軌道上で観測を開始し、世界的に展開されている地上観測網と協同でジオスペース電離圏の同時総合観測が最盛期を迎えている。本研究では2005年8月に打ち上げられたれいめい衛星を活用し、世界に先駆けて衛星・地上の多次元・高精度のオーロラ現象観測を実現させている。主にれいめい衛星・地上観測網を活用した共同研究を推進し、極域オーロラ粒子・発光現象の両面から多面多角的・包括的な観測的知見を獲得することを目的とする。特に、従来の単独衛星・地上観測では迫り切れなかったジオスペース電離圏におけるオーロラの微細構造とダイナミクスに関する綿密な衛星・地上共同観測を、各観測担当の中核的研究者が集結することで集約的・精力的に実施する。
