Research Abstract |
I conducted the study of Bugei thought and policy of powerful statesmen in the Edo period that is formed through the practice of Bugei. Because people who have influenced in a modern times Bugei school, society and Bugei community was not by an individual master or expert of Bugei, but by powerful statesmen had Bugei thought in the times. Especially post the Government of TOKUGAWA Yoshimune who is the eighth shogun, many names of descended from Yoshimune and MATSUDAIRA Sadanobu, were listed in "Roujyu" at the time of revolution. Sadanobu was adopted into the HISAMATSU-MATSUDAIRA family who practiced KITOURYU-JUDO. The thought from KITOURYU-JUDO had taken over by Sadanobu and influenced a class of Bushi and the Bugei community in various ways.
