Research Abstract |
We researched Oshirasama folk beliefs and mediums during World War II taking into consideration the influence of prewar days and postwar trends. As a result, the following was clarified. 1. Oshirasama has been believed in together with beliefs of shrines and temples in the Tsugaru region since the Meiji era. 2. The mediums that communicated with people who died during World War II attracted new attention in the 1970's.
