Research Abstract |
Students' use of university counseling services is strongly influenced by conditions particular to each college that may not be easily recognized from the outside. The researcher developed a model of student counseling that accounted for the role of such college specific conditions by using investigative visits. Results of modeling indicated that the "college" and the "student counseling office and counselors" factors restricted student counseling in almost all colleges. It is suggested that using this model would facilitate the development of student counseling services that are suitable for the particular conditions of each college.
