Research Abstract

細胞外に分泌されるアデノシンデアミナーゼ(ADA)を、昆虫細胞由来の増殖因子として発見し、昆虫の胚発生での重要性を示しました。現在では、この酵素がヒトを含む多くの動物種で保存されていることがわかり、新しい遺伝子(ADGF/CECR1)ファミリーとして認知されています。さらに、脊椎動物における機能を解析し、ADGF/CECR1が体節形成に関わる重要な遺伝子であることを示しました。この遺伝子のユニークな特徴は、細胞外アデノシン量を低下させることにより、アデノシン受容体を経由した細胞内シグナル伝達を変化させることです。一連の解析を通じて、アデノシンの細胞外代謝の生理的意義を示しました。
