| Research Abstract |
罹患同胞対法全ゲノム解析により、21番染色体上に2型糖尿病の感受性領域を同定し、2003年に報告した。同領域の原因遺伝子/SNPの同定を継続し、2008年に新規の糖尿病感受性SNPを同定した。2型糖尿病1668人対正常者1700人でOR=1.76(1.37-2.25)、p<1.5x10-6であり、多数例での再現性が確認できた。また、網膜症の感受性SNPとしてVEGF遺伝子2578多型を同定し、特許出願中である。さらに日本で1例目の巨大欠失によるMODY5例を同定し報告した。さらにエクソン欠失例も見出し報告した。
