時空間情報を利用した実世界画像認識の試み

Research Abstract

本年度は,昨年度の基礎的な研究の成果である位置情報を用いた一般画像認識の方法をWebから収集した大規模データに適用して実験を行った.
1) 写真共有サイトFlickrが提供するFlickrAPIを用いて,約340種類のコンセプトに関連する位置情報付き画像をそれぞれ1000枚程度収集し,昨年度に提案した手法を用いて,認識対象の画像のみを利用した認識に比べて位置情報を用いると認識精度が改善されるコンセプトとそうでないコンセプトの分類を行った.
2) さらに各コンセプトについて,位置エントロピーと画像領域エントロピーを求めて,コンセプト毎の画像特徴の分布と位置の分布を分析し,位置情報付き画像のエントロピー分析の新しい手法を提案し,実験によりその有効性を示した.
上記の研究成果は,国際会議で成果発表予定であり,現在,雑誌論文に投稿する準備中である.
