Research Abstract

価数揺動はf電子系の重要課題であるが、近藤温度が低い物質においては、この効果はほとんど無視されてきた。本研究では量子臨界点に近いYbCu3.5Al1.5や磁気秩序を示すYbCu3Al2においても価数揺動が起きていることを、試料作成と物性測定により明らかにした。また半導体FeGa3やFeSiは価数揺動によってバンドギャップが開いている可能性が議論されていたが、本研究により古典的バンド半導体であることが示された。
