This study clarifies the educational significance of dormitory programs in Japan and promotes the development of dormitory programs aimed at improving student learning outcomes through clarifying the educational approach and quality assurance of each country's dormitory programs at universities.

本研究は各国の学生寮の教育的なプログラムの拡大の状況や、その内容を比較することによって、大学教育における学寮の存在意義を明らかにした。また、特に日本においては、学生寮が長く福利厚生、経済支援としての側面を有しており、全人教育思想を基盤にした教育的な意義が欠けたまま、カリキュラム改革や様々な教育制度が導入されてきた。
