Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Over a five-year period, this study developed a Japanese version of a dementia care package and verified its content validity, developed a Taiwanese (Traditional Chinese) version of a dementia care text and verified its content validity, and developed a Korean (Hangul) version of a dementia care package and verified its content validity. For each country's dementia care package, semi-constructive interviews or focus group interviews were conducted with nurses and caregivers at Nursinghome in Vietnam (Hanoi), Grouphome in Taiwan (Doulou City, Yunlin County) and hospitals in South Korea (Gwangju City) about their awareness of dementia and educational experiences The study was conducted. It was found that education on dementia care in each country consisted of only a few hours of basic education, and that education in the form of practical training and exercises had not been attended.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
本研究の学術的意義としては,認知症ケアに関する最新の知識を系統的に確立でき,アクションリサーチといった準実験的研究の知見を得ることができる. また,社会背景や異文化の価値観、教育制度の違いから,認知症ケアの一般化こそはできないもののその国々に合致したケア方法の確立は必要であり,今後認知症ケアが必要になってくると予測されているアジア諸国においてローカライズされた教育パッケージを作成し実証することは,アジア圏における国際通用性の構築になり社会的意義があると考える.
