Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study targeted the Rokugo territory in the southern suburbs of the huge castle town of Edo, and attempted to elucidate the characteristics of the zone structure from the late modern period to the early modern, and obtained the following research results. (1) We conducted a re-investigation of the documents of the Ikadaya Suzuki family of Hachimanzuka Village in the collection of the Ota City Folk Museum, and completed the current status record. (2) We have begun an overview survey of the unsorted documents, the Tenmyou family documents of Unoki Village, Rokugo Territory. (2) The characteristics of the social structure of the brackish waters of the Tama River estuary were extracted by focusing on Haneda and fisheries, raft lodgings, and boat transportation. (3) Using the "Railway Case" held by the Tokyo Metropolitan Archives, we examined how the construction of the Shimbashi-Yokohama Railway in Meiji 3~4 forced the transformation of the area including the Rokugo territory.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
