Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The Department of Science Education (Biology) at Faculty of Education, Gifu University and Gifu Prefectural Museum holds approximately 200,000 voucher specimens for “Flora of Gifu, Japan” published in 2019, which is the result of regional collaborative research. We promoted the development of an information database of plant specimens, which are important materials for the natural history of the region. We also developed teaching materials for experiential lessons and practical training using actual materials in school education settings and used the plant specimens as materials for museum exhibitions and learning events. T his study might increase the public interest in nature and contributed to nurturing the next generation of naturalists and researchers.
