Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Testosteron did not induce IL-1b, IL-6 and sgp130 in human gingival fibroblasts (HGFs). MMP-1 expression was significantly induced in HGFs treated without testosterone, and the expression was gradually suppressed in HGFs treated with dose-dependent Testosterone. Interestingly, MMP-1 expression was significantly induced in HGFs cultured with high glucose conditions treated without testosterone. These results showed that periodontitis may be more severed in elderly diabetic patients, in case of without bacterial infection.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
