Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
The research activities have been conducted in 2020 to 2021;1.Translation of the study tool. Obtained an official approval from the tool developer and translated the Self-Care Heart Failure Index version 7.2 (SCHFI v7.2) and Self-care Heart Failure Index-Caregiver Contribution into the Mongolian language following translation guideline. Translated questionnaires are available on the following link:http://self-care-measures.com/available-self-care-measures/self-care-of-heart-failure-index-2/ http://self-care-measures.com/available-self-care-measures/self-care-of-heart-failure-index-2/ 2.Preparation and implementation the validation of the SCHFI v7.2 among patients with heart failure admitted to cardiac units or visited at the National Heart Center out patient clinic, third General State Central hospital in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.An ethical approval was obtained from the Ethics Committee at the Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences and the General Hospital. We are aiming to collect data from 400 patients and 200 caregivers. The research team consisted of two cardiologists , two nurses, two nursing faculties, and two senior nursing students. We conducted cognitive interviews with 10 patients and conducted a pilot study (n-20).

4: Progress in research has been delayed.
Reason
Due to Covid-19 pandemic, the Capital City of Mongolia were locked down from March to July 2020, and the restriction continued till December 2021. The hospitals were restricted to conduct research. With these condition, the progress of the research were pushed back.

Strategy for Future Research Activity |
We are going to complete the validation study in 2022, then proceed to implementation of nurse-led selfcare education intervention to Mongolian Heart Failure patients. Then conduct an evaluation study.

Causes of Carryover |
Due to Covid-19 pandemic situation, the study did not proceed as scheduled. We will start utilizing funds to conduct the main intervention study from 2022.
