Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study analyzed the actual situation of daimyo honoring projects by the former Akita feudal retainers in modern times, using the case of Yoshimasa Satake, the ninth lord of the Akita domain, and examined the real image of Yoshimasa using early modern historical materials. As a result, from the end of the Meiji period to the Taisho period, a project to honor Yoshimasa Satake was promoted, and it was clarified that the recognition that Yoshimasa was a 'great ruler' of the revival was shared. In addition, through the analysis of Yoshimasa Satake's handwritten records, he relativized the relationship with the chief retainer, which was told through critical biographies, and clarified that the Satake clan and his close associates had an influence on Yoshimasa's decision-making.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
