Outline of Final Research Achievements

The method of this research applies archival research that collects and analyzes primary historical materials in Japan and overseas. It was planed to visit some archives in multiple countries during this research period. However, during this period, the COVID-19 made it impossible to visit abroad. Therefore, the following results were obtained based on some materials that collected before COVID-19.
First of all, in the early 1920s, when the League of Nations was first established, Japanese diplomats were to a large extent involved in the post World War I processing issue in Europe. Secondly, the recognition of the Japanese diplomats regarding the international court system, which was important for empowering the activities of the federation as a collective security organization. As a result, the reality of the activities of the Japanese diplomats in the 1920s were partially clarified by this research.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
