Outline of Final Research Achievements |
With a view to clarifying the factors which promote citizens’ activities of looking after those who need support, this study analyzed existing cases in multiple urban areas where such activities have already spread to a certain extent. The analysis revealed that the citizens under study shared information about the role and limits of social welfare workers’ activities and the possibility of the occurrence of solitary death, interacted between different citizens’ groups, and held collaborative events and meetings on a daily basis, thereby having a good motive to look after others and committing to collaboration. In addition, it was found that social welfare workers obtained information about the situation of those who lived in apartments and needed support, by deepening the friendship with the apartment managers.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
