Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Gene expression pattern is dynamically changed in kidney diseases. To study gene functions in kidney diseases, we aimed to develop a simple method to modify a specific gene in a mouse body with kidney disease. We generated mice in which the kidney expresses a gene-modifying enzyme and tried to develop a carrier protein that delivers guide RNA to kidney cells. The carrier protein is taken up into kidney cells, however further improvement is necessary to accomplish this project.
