Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The present research investigated changes in phonemic awareness and learning experience resulting from language instruction for third to sixth grade students. These outcomes were assessed by phonemic awareness tests and an open-ended questionnaire. Quantitative analysis demonstrated that test scores tended to increase with each increasing grade, but that there was no statistically significant difference in score growth between grades five and six. Qualitative analysis of student questionnaires suggested a positive change in students' perceptions of their phonemic awareness.
