Outline of Final Research Achievements

This study examined the self-development resources regarding Jiritsu-Katsudo (a unique instructional field in schools for special needs education) for novice teachers and the process of teachers' professional development. Our main findings were as follows: (1) In-service training resources at education centers and the Society for Jiritsu-Katsudo Research were extracted, but regional maldistribution was indicated. (2) In addition to in-service training and daily relationships with colleagues, the participants were influenced by the Society for Jiritsu-Katsudo Research and Dohsa-hou training sessions. The findings suggested that the opportunities for self-development played a certain role in resolving the teaching difficulties encountered by teachers.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
