Outline of Final Research Achievements |
GDF11 and myostatin are members of the transforming growth factor β (TGF-β) superfamily. Although they play pivotal roles during development, little information is available for the expression in the adult central nervous system. This research revealed follistatin and BMP9 expression in the adult rat central nervous system and suggested the idea that they play important roles in the adult neurogenesis.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
