Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
Gestational hypertension and diabetes are associated with the adverse birth outcome i. e. low birth weight (LBW) is a serious public health problem in South Asia. The main purposes of the current research are to determine the burden and effects of diabetes and hypertension induced by pregnancy in resource-limited rural women and investigate how much these conditions self-resolve at 6 months post-partum or if they may be contributing to the overall burden of non-communicable diseases in Bangladesh. Thus, the findings from the current study can create academic evidence to improve reproductive age women health status that led to reducing the adverse birth outcome i. e. LBW as well as a critical path of NCDs development both developed and developing countries. I have cleared ethical clearance from Nagasaki University. I have also finished piloting the survey questionnaire and waiting to submit ethical clearance application to Bangladesh. Bangladesh Government has shut down international airport since February 2020 due to COVID-19 outbreaks, therefore unable to procedure my research activities since February 2020.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
4: Progress in research has been delayed.
Reason
In order to proceed my research, I need to first clear Bangladesh research council ethical clearance. So I had planned to apply for ethical clearance in Bangladesh where this research would be conducted. After that I could start recruiting research staffs and data collection. Due to COVID-19 outbreaks in Bangladesh since February 2020 to till date, this research activities are on hold. Bangladesh Government has been shut down it's international airport, and all offices due to COVID-19 outbreaks. Therefore I have been waiting to proceed my research activities since February 2020 due to this unpleasant circumstances. Therefore, this research is slightly behind schedule.

Strategy for Future Research Activity |
I have planned to apply for ethical clearance in Bangladesh where this research will be conducted. Due to the COVID-19 outcome, I could not proceed to submit the application. In 2020FY, I am planning to submit ethical clearance application to the Bangladesh Medical Research Council. After getting ethical clearance from Bangladesh, I will start recruiting research staffs to enroll study participants (pregnant women) and data collection. I will start working as soon as COVID-19 outbreak finished.

Causes of Carryover |
Due to COVID-19 outbreak, the ethical clearance application has been delayed in Bangladesh. Therefore, hiring staffs and data collection is not happened. So, this money is planned to be used for collection data, and field activities after approval.
