| Research Abstract |
最終年度ということもあり、国際誌Progress in Oceanography誌にオホーツク海特集号を組み成果を集約した。また、2013年3月8日にシンポジウムを開催し、研究成果を総括するとともに、今後の課題を整理した。2012年4月9-16日淡青丸KT12-5航海を実行し、これまで得られた観測データも併せて、黒潮前線で強化される乱流が栄養塩鉛直輸送を増加させ持続的な生物生産に寄与していることを明らかにした。また、乱流計搭載自走式3次元海洋微細構造観測装置海洋グライダの実海域運用を1日間日本で初めて行った。2012年6月8日-6月28日北海道大学おしょろ丸北洋航海（21日間）において、ベーリング海東部陸棚縁辺に沿った高生物生産帯グリーンベルトでの鉄供給を担うと示唆されていた陸棚縁辺での沿った乱流を、乱流計、流速計、乱流計搭載グライダを用いて観測した。淡青丸KT12-23東北沖航海において、東北近海において、乱流計搭載グライダを用いた観測を行った。CTD搭載型乱流計マイクロライダデータの解析ソフトウエアを用いて高速水温計データの乱流見積もりの有効性を確認した。これまで取得した千島列島・アリューシャン・ベーリング海域の観測データ3次元モデルの結果とを比較し、千島の乱流の約２割が地形性捕捉波動と平均流シアによって説明できることを明らかにした。ベーリング海陸棚縁辺域での流速・乱流をモデル化し、鉄輸送を担う鉛直混合が日周期地形性捕捉波動と半日伝播性内部潮汐で説明されることを明らかにした。木の年輪の炭素同位体解析から、日本での長期気候変動と社会変化の関係を論じた。日本周辺水温長期データを用いて、潮汐18.6年振動の現れる海域を特定した。潮汐混合を18.6年周期で変動させる大気・海洋・海氷結合モデル結果から、千島とアリューシャンで強化される塩分変動の存在を示した。
