Research Abstract

中層大気の気候変動力学分野における我が国の第一線研究者からなる研究体制を作り,全研究方法を有効に組み合わせることにより,中層大気を陽に含む大気大循環の主要力学過程を網羅した総合的研究を強力に推進する.成層圏-対流圏結合系の多重時空間変動像に関する新たな研究のアイデアを共有し,定期的集会での情報交換に基づいて全参画者が協調した研究を展開することにより,成層圏-対流圏結合系の気候形成過程とその気候変化における主要力学過程の役割を統一した視点で明らかにする
具体的には,成層圏の長期変化が大気大循環の主要力学過程(平均子午面循環,プラネタリー波,傾圧擾乱,重力波,および,積雲対流群)に及ぼす影響をパラメータスウィープ実験とアンサンブル実験により定量的に評価する.そして,対流圏や地上の気候形成と気候変化においてこれらの各過程が果たす力学的な役割を明らかにする
また,冬季極域SSWなど季節内変動が大きい状況で,気候的な季節進行とそれからの偏差としての年々変動に自然変動成分を区分けし,さらに強制応答としての経年的な気候変化を抽出することで,成層圏-対流圏結合系の多重時空間スケールでの変動・変化像を構築する.そして,データ解析,数値実験,理論を有機的に且つ有効に組み合わせることにより,そのような多重時空間変動・変化のなかで上記の主要力学過程が果たす役割を明らかにする
