Research Abstract |
This project is the prospective study "Investigation for malignant transformation of endometriosis in Japan". We have analyzed the personal data collected from approximately 2, 000 patients diagnosed as endometriosis. Of these patients, seven patients who have had ovarian cancer derived from endometrioma until 2011, and this research work will be conducted for next 10 years. In the basic molecular experiments, only the epithelial cells derived from ovarian endometrioma and clear cell carcinoma of ovary were captured, and analyzed gene expression profile by using the comprehensive cDNA microarray. We assessed the expression and function of fibroblast growth factor receptor(FGFR)-2 associated with the malignant transformation of endometrioma.
