| Research Abstract |
This research focuses on attendance problems of school pupils. By conducting the fieldworks targeting primary schools in Finland(equivalent to primary and junior-high schools in Japan), the realities of attendance problems, the practices of and challenges in helping those pupils with attendance problems and their families in Finland have been studied in comparison with Japanese current situations of attendance problems. In four years of this research it is clarified that school social workers in Finnish schools play the essential role in coping with various patterns of problems of pupils and their families by coordinating adequate support at early stage.

[Remarks] 国際講演会・セミナーフィンランド・ユヴァスキュラ大学家族研究センター長キンモ・ヨキネン教授を招聘し,東京(2011年11月23日,お茶の水女子大学,共催:「なくそう子どもの貧困」全国ネットワーク,後援:フィンランドセンター),岡山(11月25日,吉備国際大学),神戸(11月26日,甲南大学:関西家族社会学会研究例会),札幌(11月29日,北海道大学)での講演会・セミナーを実施し,研究者のみならず子ども福祉や不登校を含む教育問題に関心の高い一般市民の参加を得て,研究成果の社会還元に努めた.
