Research Abstract |
In this research, we are concerned with the tradition of Greek hedonism to show, in the first place, the possibility of positive evaluation of Democritus' hedonism as a coherent ethical system, and, in the second, the limitations of Epicurean hedonism as normative ethics because of its psychological egoism, and, furthermore, the general effectiveness of hedonism itself in considering the source of personal ethics.
