Research Abstract |
We applied the AdS/CFT duality in superstring theory into real-world systems such as quark-gluon plasma and condensed-matter systems. Because strongly-coupled computations are necessary to understand those systems, there was little progress in theoretical computations. However, the AdS/CFT duality claims that strongly-coupled field theories are equivalent to black holes, so computations become possible using black holes. In particular, we analyze(1) transport coefficients of causal hydrodynamics,(2) critical phenomena near second-order phase transitions,(3) and analysis of strongly-coupled superconductors.
