Research Abstract |
We analyzed host factors involved in early steps of HIV-1 replication and found that cyclophilin A suppressed HIV-1 replication in Old World Monkey cells. We also found that the mechanisms of retrovirus restriction by TRIM5・ vary depending on the combination of host and virus. Furthermore, we found that monkey regions of the SIVmac capsid protein are necessary for complete evasion from rhesus monkeym TRIM5・ restriction.
