Research Abstract |
The research analyses the dynamic changes of production structures and institutionalization in the global automobile industry across Japan, U.S. and China, with particular reference to the rise of various economic actors such as regional governments and firms in the development of multi-level networks. Behind the China's sharp development of the automobile industry, the research have found the importance of development of cooperative and competitive relations among the leading Japanese and the US multinational auto firms and Chinese firms as well as the important cooperative roles of the Chinese regional governments. From the perspectives of global economy, correlation between formal regional project based on Japan, U.S., and China and reality of economic interdependence could be discussed through analyzing the emerging construction of regional governance by the various networks.
