Research Abstract

近年,シギ・チドリ類の飛来個体数の急激な減少が世界中で顕在化しており,餌場としての干潟・湿地生態系の保全や再生による飛来数の回復が喫緊の課題となっている.しかしながら,これまで鳥類の食性解析研究では,採餌物が全く確認できない事例が多数みられるなど,真相はいまだ謎に包まれている.したがって本研究では,干潟・湿地における鳥類の餌資源の解明を目的としている.特に,小型シギ類が堆積物表面に存在するバイオフィルムをどの程度利用しているのかについて焦点を当てている.
