Research Abstract |
Reactive oxygen species (ROS) operate as signaling molecules undervarious physiological conditions, and overproduction of ROS is involved in the pathogenesisof many diseases. Therefore, fluorescent probes for visualizing ROS are promising toolswith which to uncover the molecular mechanisms of physiological and pathologicalprocesses and might also be useful for diagnosis. We developed such a novel fluorescenceprobe, operating in the physiologically favorable near-infrared region.
