Research Abstract |
This research has been able to shed light on how prewar Japanese signals intelligence had impacted the decision-making of the Japanese leaders in Tokyo, particularly of the critical period during the US-Japan conversations just prior to Pearl Harbor. This in turn has allowed for an altogether new evaluation of the path to the Pacific War. In terms of research output, emphasis was placed on international presentations as real time feedback can be obtained. These will be reflected in the forthcoming monograph that is under consideration. Furthermore, this research has led to two articles in edited compilations, one in English and the other in Japanese.
