Research Abstract

含水条件下で地震性高速断層運動を再現できる試験機を開発することに成功した.その結果,(1)断層摩擦発熱に起因する間隙水圧の上昇に伴って断層の強度が低下すること(有効圧の法則が断層運動時にも適応可能であること),(2)マグニチュード1以下の地震においても,様々なガスの放出と間隙流体の化学組成の著しい変化が起こることが確認された.また,これら断層起源ガスや流体組成の変化が地下生命圏に影響を与える可能性を指摘することができた.
