Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究は、「電離圏は、その強磁場弱電離気体系としての特有のダイナミクスを有し、磁気圏ダイナミクスに大きく影響を及ぼす能動的役 割を持つ」と提案、この新概念を実証するために、(A) グローバルM-I結合シミュレーションにより再現される、電離圏対流変調効果など、 M-I結合の結果電離圏に発現する現象の、磁気圏構造/ダイナミクスへの影響の抽出、(B) 人工衛星-オーロラ画像データ解析による、オーロラ間近接相互作用をもたらす電離 圏独自の局所ダイナミクスの解明、を、目的とした研究を遂行し、M-I系ダイナミクスの理解の深化へ向け、旧来のM-I結合研究 の固定観念を刷新、(C)それらを包括的に記述する多圏間結合系プラズマ力学の一般化と結合理論の構築 を進めている。
今年度は(A)と関連してMHDシミュレーターの磁気圏電離圏結合アルゴリズム部分を従来的な静的ポテンシャルソルバーから、動的なAlfven waveによる結合アルゴリズムに置き換える作業を進めており、その途中経過についての報告を行った。また、(B)と関連してオーロラ領域における、衝突性Hall-MHDと結合した3流体ハイブリッドソルバーを開発し、電離圏起源のAlfven waveが、PBIを説明出来るだけの電子加速をもたらすことを示すことが出来た。また、3次元電離圏ポテンシャルソルバーの開発も進んでおり、こうした極域でのM-I結合より形成される全球電離圏電流構造の解析に対する初期結果を得ることが出来た。

Reason

初年度コロナ禍により、当初の研究計画のスタートが大幅に遅れたが、2年目から研究代表者・分担者の相互交流も軌道にのり、共同研究はほぼ予定通りすすめることができた。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

現在、本研究計画には研究代表者・分担者のみならず、博士課程の大学院生2名(R5年度D1,D2,1名ずつ)も参画し、それぞれの博士論文テーマを推進している。この研究グループの拡大により、本研究課題の更なる推進を期待している。
