| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
本年度はOSAの原因のひとつとされる口蓋扁桃肥大について、肥大がどの程度で通気障害が生じて、どのような影響が生じるか明らかにした論文「Effect of palatine tonsil hypertrophy on tongue posture and maxillofacial dentition: A pharyngeal airway computational fluid dynamics study」をPediatric Dental Journal に投稿した。
本論分では口蓋扁桃肥大があると咽頭気道が狭窄し、咽頭気道に通気障害が生じる可能性があるため、舌が前方に位置して呼吸路を確保しようとしてる可能性がある事さらにその影響で歯列咬合形態に大きな影響が生じている可能性が高いことを示すことができた。そのため、気道周囲組織の重要性も改めて示された。
