Outline of Final Research Achievements

This study utilized medical insurance data from Taiwan to analyze the effects of space environmental factors, weather factors, and air pollutants on the onset and exacerbation of suicide, traffic accidents, injuries, migraine headaches, Meniere's disease, and depression using a case-crossover design. As a result, we found associations between various environmental factors and the onset and exacerbation of various diseases. In some of these cases, we began to examine the mechanisms. This approach has led to a better understanding of the specific impact mechanisms of environmental factors on health, and has provided important insights that will contribute to the development of future preventive measures and interventions.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

本研究では、宇宙環境要因、気象要因、大気汚染物質などの環境要素が、様々な疾患の発症や増悪に及ぼす影響を詳細に分析した。これらの環境要因が人々の健康に与える影響を明らかにすることで、公衆衛生の向上と環境政策の改善に貢献する可能性がある。特に、環境要因による健康への悪影響を予防するための対策や、早期介入、リスク管理の手法が開発されることが多くの健康問題を未然に防ぐ可能性を持つ。この研究から得られた知見は、環境保護の重要性を再認識させ、持続可能な社会の実現に向けての行動変化を促す一助となる。
