Outline of Final Research Achievements

This study was conducted on the historical significance of "Kokin Waka Rokujo," which is created in the late 10th century. Specifically, the process by which "Kokin Waka Rokujo" was created was examined through a comparison of the Shiki no bu of "Kokin Wakashu" with the saiji bu of "Kokin Waka Rokujo," and an analysis of poems in "The Tale of Ise." As a result, it was clarified that "Kokin Waka Rokujo" was created while being influenced by works such as "Kokin Wakashu" and "The Tale of Ise," and that "Konkin Waka Rokujo" also contributed to the creation of the later supplementary chapters of "The Tale of Ise."

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

『古今和歌六帖』は万葉歌の平安朝における享受史の観点でも、『源氏物語』や『枕草子』等の後代の作品に与えた影響史の観点でも注目すべき歌集である。本研究は、『古今和歌六帖』がいかなる和歌史的文脈のなかで成立した歌集であるのか、また、『伊勢物語』等の生成にいかに寄与したのかを明らかにしたものであり、『古今和歌六帖』研究に資するのみならず、広く古代和歌研究に資するものとしての意義を有している。
