Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The main "novel writing discourses" from the late Meiji to the early Taisho period include the Nihon Bunsho Gakuin of Shinchosha and the Hakubunkan magazine "Bunsho Sekai" and related publications. The development of Shinchosha, which was the first to commercialize "novel writing" provides a glimpse into the development of literary discourse, and at the same time, the terms and categories that emerged from this process may have influenced the literacy of the novel. When we evaluate the significance of "novel writing discourses" with reference to the findings of creativity studies, it is necessary to measure what they are trying to make us attempt. It can also be a discourse that conveys the state of "being able to write"as well as instruction in specific techniques. From this perspective, the "novel writing discourse" centering on Tayama Hanabukuro in "Bunsho Sekai" has a certain value.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
