大気微量成分観測と4次元同化場解析による熱帯対流圏界層内脱水過程の解明

Research Abstract

熱帯対流圏界層(TTL)内脱水過程を解明し、熱帯成層圏水蒸気の長期トレンドを高精度ゾンデ観測により検出し、TTL水蒸気量と水平移流に伴う大気の温度履歴との対応を、同一大気塊の複数回観測(match観測)により明らかにすることがこの課題の目的である。そのための手法として、ゾンデデータを全球化学輸送モデル(CTM)と結合された大気大循環モデル(GCM)に同化し、サブグリッドスケール輸送過程の評価や高時空間分解能計算による気象場記述の高精度化を図る。本年度は、Biak, Tarawa, HaNoiでの水蒸気ゾンデ観測を予定通り実施するとともに、熱帯下部成層圏における水蒸気の長期トレンドの解析結果を論文として投稿した。脱水メカニズムに関する研究としては、鏡面冷却型水蒸気ゾンデCFHの応答遅延を定量的に確認するためにFLASH水蒸気ゾンデとの同時飛揚を試みたが、TTLにおけるCFHの動作に問題が発生し、次年度への継続課題となった。先行課題から一貫して取り組んできた水蒸気matchについては、解析の前段階として開発された、ゾンデ観測値に含まれる気圧誤差の評価法を論文として公表した。理想的なmatch対の同定法の開発はほぼ終了し、得られたmatch対の温度履歴と観測された水蒸気量との対応から、過飽和状態で存在可能な大気の相対湿度などを評価した。この結果は、論文として発表準備中である。4次元同化の利用については、地球シミュレータによるデータ同化研究を行っているグループと議論を重ねており、次年度中に計算を実施し解析に着手できる見込みである。これにより、移流中の大気塊の脱水量評価にアンサンブル計算が適用できるはずで、大きな一歩が期待できる。
