Research Abstract |
In the Tudor period, garments for court masks were discard of or given to the players after alteration and translation. Some of these garment could have gone into the store of a playing company in the latter half of the 16th century. Sumptuous dresses, emphatic colors, and sensational stage performance were the features of pre-Shakespearean stage. Although characteristics of plays changed after 1594, costumes were still the most important visual aspect of production.
