Research Abstract |
We investigated the allergenicity of soybean allergen, Gly m Bd 28K, and wheat allergen, Tri a Bd 27K. These allergens were shown to contain fucose and xylose in addition to mannose, N-acetyl glucosamine, indicating that the sugar moieties of these allergens may be asparagine-linmked sugar chain. Furthermore, these sugar moieties were shown to be bind IgE antibodies in sera of patients sensitive to soybean and wheat. The cDNA encoding Gly m Bd 28K has been cloned. However, the cDNA has the part encoding the signal peptide of the precursor for Gly m Bd 28K, but the cDNA has not the perfect cDNA encoding full length of mRNA for the allergen. In the present study, three amino acid residues on the signal peputide and 20-bp on the 5'-untranlated region were elucidated by 5'-RACE kit. This finding provide useful information on the expression of the allergen in cultivated tabacco cells.
