Research Abstract |
In the Cu, Zn-superoxide dismutase knock out mice(Sod1-/-mice), decreased tear secretion and ocular surface abnormalities were observed. Moreover, prominent fibrosis, inflammation and increased odidative stress marker staining were found in Sod1-/-mice. The current study revealed that the epithelial-mesenchymal transition could be involved in the histological changes in Sod1-/-mice.
