Research Abstract |
Synthesis of novel porphyrin oligomers has been achieved with borylated porphyrins as key building blocks. Cross-coupling of tetraborylated porphyrin with tetrabromo porphyrin provided a tetrameric porphyrin tube, which has an inner cavity with a diameter of 14A. The X-ray diffraction analysis elucidated that the porphyrin tube encapsulates a C_60 molecule in its cavity and the interaction between the tube and C_60 constructs a 3D network in the solid state.
