Research Abstract |
In this study, we analyzed the role of SPIKAR, a novel transcriptional-coactivator, in dendritic spine formation. SPIKAR is localized in not only nucleus but also cytoplasm. We indicated that SPIKAR is involved in early phase of spine formation, especially in filopodia formation. SPIKAR-Knockout mice showed embryonic fatality, suggesting that SPIKAR has pivotal roles in ontogenesis as well as neuronal development.
