| Research Abstract |
From the results of the fieldwork conducted in the Chinese societies of Taiwan, Hong Kong and Mainland China, the long service employees in the three Chinese societies have moved up in their positions through their long-term commitment to the Japanese companies. By accumulating a lot of interactions and shared memories with Japanese expatriates, they can make sense of Japanese expatriates or Japanese HQs. This process is called a "secondary socialization process" (Berger & Luckmann 1966) of Japanese companies and this is a process of "sensemaking" (Weick 1995) in Japanese manufacturing companies in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Mainland China.
