Research Abstract |
The present study investigated the relationships between the shapes of flow duration curves and physiographic watershed characteristics, seeking for a methodology to estimate the flow regime in poorly gauged watersheds. The results helped a mapping of groundwater recharge potential in Japanese mountainous watersheds and revealed potentially critical recharge forests for Japanese water security.
